HAMMR-HD
The High-frequency Airborne Microwave and Millimeter-wave Radiometer - High Definition (HAMMR-HD) has 48-72 GHz and 113-183 GHz hyperspectral systems, operating in the regions of the oxygen (O2) absorption complex near 60 GHz, the oxygen absorption line near 118 GHz, and the water vapor absorption line near 183 GHz.
High-resolution microwave observation of the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) is essential to improve the state of the art of numerical weather prediction models and the fidelity of climate models.
This updated instrument is based on the HAMMR instrument developed by PI Steven Reising of Colorado State University, in collaboration with JPL and UCLA.
