This animation of a PowerPoint presentation introduces the TOPEX/Poseidon, Jason 1, Jason 2 and Jason 3 altimetry missions and describes the innovations required to make them happen. It then illustrates how these were implemented and outlines some of their discoveries and impacts on Society. It also introduces the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission, which launches in 2021, to continue the 26 year legacy of spaceborne altimetry.
