The Signals of Opportunity Synthetic Aperture Radar (SoOpSAR) is a technology under development for high spatial resolution remote sensing of terrestrial snow water storage and soil moisture.

SoOpSAR parses P-band signals produced by telecommunications satellites and already bouncing back off Earth for information about mountainous snowpacks.
